Electric Tapes is a cassette based record label ran by Tyler and Brad Pursel out of their home in Phoenixville, PA. Electric tapes specializes in limited release cassettes of noise, ambient, experimental, drone metal, punk and indie releases by local and national artist. The label was founded in 2009 and is always looking to put out releases by unique and individual artists, so if you think you've got something let us know, we may just be happy to put it out, we are also interested in liscensing releases for cassette release only so if your signed to another label but would like someone to release your album on cassette get at us!
here are a few FAQ's:

Q: "Really cassettes? why are you putting out tapes no one buys tapes."
A: That is not entirely true, while the general masses this day in age certainly do not purchase cassette tapes (or really any music for that matter) or consider them anywhere near a viable option when listening to music a small fraction of listeners appreciate them for their unique sound quality, retroness as well as being affordable. You can purchase high quality tape decks in most pawnshops for $10.00 and there is a rather large DIY network of labels like ours putting out quality music on cassette, so by investing 10 or so dollars in a quality tape deck you can open your mind up to a whole variety of amazing music you might not have heard otherwise. It is also a great way to release music on a concrete format that is affordable for both the producer and consumer, our tapes feature high quality high bias type II cassettes and high quality artwork packed with original tunes for $6.00 shipped to your door, not to mention all of our tapes are limited release in very small quantities so you are getting something that not everyone is going to hear or have, it then becomes your choice if you want to dub it for your friends or keep the magic for yourself. As of now none of this music will be available digitally. Also we look at tapes with a certain fondness we lived through the era of the transfer from tapes to CD's and even now CD to almost fully digital. While we did own a good amount of vinyl, tapes were what we grew up listening to in our earliest phases of getting into music. Tapes also have a very special sound quality, i'm not going to say its better than CD's and its certainly nowhere near the analog quality of an LP it suits certain genres of music, many of those being the type that we like to release. So get yourself a tape deck, support DIY music and culture and give what most consider an obsolete audio format another show at life, we promise you won't be dissapointed!

Q: "Sounds cool what can we expect from your label"
A: Lots of awesome tunes and tapes. We might do some vinyl in the future if things go right.

Q: "Where can I send my demo"
A: Send it to:
Electric Tapes/Tyler Pursel

Phoenixville, PA 19460

Q: "Do you ship internationally?"
A: For now we do not but if your really jonsing for some hot tape action we may be able to make a special arrangement. For the most part though probably not as it is to expensive, we hope to find a european distributor in the future to take care of these matters. We also cannot ship to anywhere in Canada Alaska or Hawaii. Hopefully if things go smoothe we will be able to rectify this situation in the future.

Q: "How much is regular shipping
A: We ship USPS, shipping is $2.00 for the first item and $0.50 for each additional. Eventually we hope to offer Vinyl as well as possibly a CDR or two maybe even a label t-shirt shipping on those items will be assessed when they become available in our shop. people outside of the continental 48 (basically Hawaii and Alaska) as well as Canada please email me before ordering and expect additional charges.
Q: "Awesome, will you dudes wholesale to my distro"
A: Definetly everything wholesale is half off the retail price, of course you must prove to us that you have a legitimate distro setup and purchase 5 or more copies of the same catalog number. Regular shipping still applies.

Q: "Are you ever gonna sell anything besides tapes?"
A: We may eventually offer some CDR comps and 7 inchs, maybe a few mini cd's only time will tell, right now we want to see how we do just moving tapes.
Q: "Wow tapes seem awesome where are some other places I can get cool stuff on cassette?"
A: Hanson Records out of Michigan distributes a ton of awesome noise and drone music you can check them out at www.hansonrecords.net also check out 905 tapes based out of Delaware, PA his cassettes are like works of art.
